Students may leave isolation on day 6 and resume normal activities as long as they are fever free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours and symptoms are mild and improving. In alignment with Stanford’s policy during the academic year, summer students who test positive for COVID-19 will isolate in their assigned room for a minimum of 5 days. After the first week of the program we encourage students to wear masks in accordance with their own level of comfort.Īll students received an email from the Summer Session office detailing this summer’s plans for isolating students who have tested positive for COVID-19. ![]() During the summer masks will be available in the lounge areas within residences, at the Arrillaga Family Dining Commons, and at the Environmental Health & Safety Office (EH&S). Masks will be available at check-in on Roble Field. Be aware that some instructors may continue to ask that masks be worn in their classrooms throughout the summer. Students will not be required to wear masks within their residence, in dining halls, or when walking around campus. ![]() This policy includes all indoor orientation events scheduled as part of Welcome Weekend, as well as Summer Session programming scheduled during the first week of the session. During the first week of the program, as students settle in and begin classes, we require that masks be worn when attending indoor functions or activities. With students coming from almost all 50 states and more than 40 countries around the world, we urge every student to take caution in order to keep our community safe and minimize any disruption to their own academic experience. This includes plans on how to isolate students should they test positive. Stanford Summer Session will be utilizing policies and practices that have been well-tested during the academic year, with the goal of ensuring that students remain healthy and safe while on campus. We’ve learned a lot about how to support students who test positive for COVID-19, while also protecting the wider Stanford community.
